Update on the Bedrest Girl

So, Lynn has not had the best week. She has had another bout with nausea, which is another symptom of preeclampsia, and the blood pressure has gotten worse. It is still under control, but at this point, she cannot even sit up to work on the computer. It is very touchy, and sky-rockets when she gets up to use the bathroom......example: laying down 110/77; from there, just getting up to go to the bathroom 166/99. For those of you that don't know a whole lot about blood pressure, over 90 for the low number is not good; 100 for the low number is really not good.

BOTTOM LINE: Our goal was to try to make it to sometime between October 24th and the 31st. We had to make an unscheduled trip to the doctors office yesterday (Friday) because of the spike in the blood pressure. Long story short: we are scheduled to go back for another check up on Monday morning, and if everything is ok, we will have a baby on Wednesday, October 18th. The baby's size is good, and the outlook is good for mommy and baby. There is a possibility that we may not get to come home on Monday, so we are going to the hospital prepared to stay. Honestly, we were a little suprised that he let us come home last night. In any event, we will let everyone know if anything changes.

Thank you all for your help and support through Lynn's tough time. Check for updates soon! We are getting ready for the stork!

Baby Oz 34 Weeks

Baby Update!!!

Wednesday, Lynn and I went back for her scheduled doctor visit in Birmingham, and it was our best visit in a long time!!

Her blood pressure was low, and everything was very good! We had another ultrasound...here is a picture of our little sweetie. She has been growing fast.....on Wednesday she weighed 4 lbs, 13 ozs. That's up a good bit since our last visit. Must be all those veggies mommy has been eating!

So here is the latest: we go back for a scheduled appointment on October 18 if all stays the same. On that day, Lynn will have a full exam and if everything goes as planned, we will pick a birthdate for our baby. We are looking at somewhere between October 24th (which just happens to be my birthday) and the 31st (BOO!). This will be right around the 37 week mark. For anyone that does not know, we are having baby girl early due to a high blood pressure problem Lynn is having. She has just finished her 7th week of bedrest, and she is loving it! We will let everyone know the date as soon as we find out.

Again, thank you to everyone that has helped us through this stressful time. You will never know how much I appreciate it.

On Tuesday, October 3, employees of Jamison Money Farmer gave Lynn and Angela Hammiter a baby shower at Indian Hills Country Club. Below are a few pics....

Thank you to everyone at JMF for being so supportive during Lynn's pregnancy. I think everyone that works there has offered to bring food or do something to help during the bedrest. You will never know how much we appreciate it.

A Big "Thank You"

Saturday night, Sept. 30, Traci Bailey and Revon Bigham, Gary and Denise Osborn, Ronnie and Linda Mason, and Richard and Mary Ann Phillips threw us a huge couples baby shower at Traci's home on Lake Tuscaloosa.

We received so many beautiful things for our baby girl and we appreciate everyone who attended and gave all of the wonderful gifts.

Notably, I especially want to thank Traci and Revon for all of the work they did for this event. If you were not able to attend, they went above and beyond for one of the best showers I have ever seen (not that I frequent showers, but seriously, this was NICE.) I will post pictures very soon, after I collect from all of the professional photographers that attended.

I also want to thank my dad, Gary, for helping set up and coordinate everything between all of the families, and the awesome gumbo. Thank you to Lynn's mom, Linda, for all of her work with the invitations and the dip, and bringing multiple outfits to our house for Lynn to choose from since she is unable to shop these days. Thank you to Ronnie Mason for the artistic, highly visible signs that led everyone to the party, and the many things he has done for us. Thanks also to Richard, and my mom, Mary Ann for making the trip from Fairhope and helping me around the house this weekend.

BIG SURPRISE......on Friday, I had multiple errands to run around town to get ready for the weekend events. Dad ask me to go to lunch since I was in town, and I met him at the dealership around 11:00 am. He told me he had to wait a few minutes on a guy that was suppose to bring him a check. While I was sitting in the showroom, a familiar SUV from Texas pulled up. My brother Matt and his family Kerrie, Morgan, and Karlyle (with Mr. Pig) arrived. It was a well kept secret that was very well organized in order to not make Lynn and I suspicious. They left San Antonio at 9:30 pm Thursday night and arrived in Tuscaloosa around 10:00 am Friday morning. I had no clue. I definitely want to thank them for making the trip and for being a part of this weekend with us. It was also Matt's 10 year reunion at Hillcrest High School.

Thanks also to Mark and Pam (Lynn's sister) for making the trip from Cartersville, Ga. For those of you that are interested, there will be a nice, brand new Alabama cheerleading outfit on ebay later today.

And the biggest thank you to my wife, Lynn, who presently has endured five and a half weeks of bed rest due to blood pressure problems. If I appeared to be stressed out at the shower, it is because I was. There was a point during the evening that I had decided I was going to have to take her home. Luckily, the BP leveled out, and she was able to visit with everyone for a short time.

check back soon for pics.......and vote for Doster McMullen on November 7th!!

The Joys of Bedrest

In case you are unaware, Lynn has been placed on bedrest due to some problems with high blood pressure. The outlook is good, and everything is going just fine. If you know Lynn, you know that she is a very busy person who hardly ever misses work and loves her job as an accountant at JMF. This has been quite an adjustment. Below are some pictures that she is very glad i am putting on the internet.
